Lean In Kaua`i

This Lean In Circle is meant for all persons on the island of Kaua`i to join who are interested in gathering (in person and online) to discuss and improve the state of gender equality on our island. As a culture, we are known by our Kindness. Support. Love. and Respect for one another. That we are all family and an Ohana. While it's great that outwardly and on the surface we hold that image and that our country in this modern day is widely seen as representing 'Equal Opportunity For All,' if we are honest and accept the truths of what is, we know there is a lot more work to be done. This circle is intended to create a forum for the conversations that need to take place, among the younger generations and our kupuna (elders), so that we can work together and truly give a fair chance to our keiki (children) growing up today and for those of the present generation to Continue Pursuing their Passions and Dreams to Lead, Nurture and Live. Moreover, to do so unhindered and without fear that they will be judged and discriminated against on the basis of their gender and not by the merit of their efforts, their integrity, their actions and their heart. In this way I believe that all generations and peoples of our island, state and nation can be proud of a continued legacy towards gender equality and make our lives and our community what it's meant and known to be.
