Intersectionality

People are often disadvantaged by multiple sources of oppression. Mainstream debates on feminism and gender equality often sideline discussions about the complexities of prejudices faced by women of colour, different nationalities, race, religion and class. Understanding the complexities of these prejudices i.e. intersectionality, is essential to combatting the challenges of gender equality in increasingly diverse communities.
