What is a Lean In Circle

Circles are small groups of 8 to 12 women who meet on a regular basis for ongoing support and growth. 85% of members credit their Circle with a positive change in their life, and almost two-thirds of women in Circles have taken on a new challenge. Lean In provides all the materials you need to get your Circle started and keep it going. And with our new leadership training program developed specifically for women, it’s easier than ever to run an engaging Circle.

Learn with our world-class leadership curriculum

The Women at Work Collection is our free leadership program designed to take your Circle on a shared journey of learning. Featuring 18 action-oriented videos and discussion guides, it’s a culmination of decades of research, expert input, and insights from our global community. The Collection covers essential topics like becoming a transformational leader, mastering negotiation, and navigating workplace bias. And for Circles based around shared experience, we offer Leadership Fundamentals Playlists, featuring customized content for Black women, Asian women, Latinas, LGBTQ+ groups, women with disabilities, and working mothers.

Grow alongside like-minded women

Whether your Circle is made of friends, coworkers in your industry or at your career stage, or women you’ve met through our community, you’ll soon have a tight-knit support group to guide you through both personal and professional challenges. Peer mentorship helps you to build professional skills and feel more empowered to take risks. In fact, 81% of members said being in a Circle helped their career.

Meet regularly with your Circle

Circles usually meet once a month, everywhere from living rooms to company cafeterias, or virtually across the globe—it’s up to you and your Circle to decide what works best for you. We hear from Circle members that they benefit most from their Circle when they meet for six months or more. And some Lean In Circles have been running successfully for over 10 years!
