There are three things to know before asking to join:
1. Madrid Lean In aims to bring back the idea of the female tribe.
2. That means that this is not a networking group, in fact it is far from a networking group
3. This is a volunteer organization and requires you volunteer your time to attend meetings
If you want a group of women to connect with on a personal level and are willing to accept that professional networking is not the first nor the second and not even the third objective, then continue reading.
If you are looking for a networking group then I strongly recommend International Women in Business Madrid. They are a wonderful professional networking group. I'm a member myself.
So what is Madrid Lean In?
This group is for those who want to surround themselves with sharp women who help and motivate each other to move forward in their lives and ambitions. It's also a place for us to vent our frustrations from work and life, give advice, and just share experiences good and bad. It's important to know that this is not a networking group. You will meet incredibly interesting people but building your professional network is not the goal of this group. Community, having a female "tribe", sharing, learning and growing - these are the goals of the group.
The ultimate goal: inspire each other move forward and move up.
We have one circle meeting a month plus ocassional workshops and social events. Our members come from may backgrounds and more than a dozen nationalities. The one thing we all have in common is the want and need for a shared space, community and a support system to make bold decisions and succeed in our own personal definitions of success.
We'd love to have you.
Spanish and English welcomed.
