Culture can be defined as the characteristics and knowledge of a particular group of people, defined by everything from language, religion, cuisine, social habits, music and arts. More and more, countries are becoming enhanced and redefined through immigration. This is an aspect of growth. As countries grow, so does its richness through cultural diversity. Budapest is made up of many international residents who either came here for work, study or just through a simple visit. Being in a new land can be challenging and we would like to bring these residents a little taste of home. By creating this group it will give us a chance to learn and share another persons culture. Sometimes it is difficult to understand why people act or do certain things in a way which is not common to them, through a better understanding, we can eliminate any fears or misconceptions. This group is open to anyone who lives or is visiting Budapest. We also encourage Hungarians to participate as it is important to learn from them as well. Decided by previous meet up voting, each meet up will celebrate a specific country or region. Events could include traditional food tasting, music and arts, storytelling, films or even a poetry session. Any performance or talent will be highly appreciated and people from any walk of life are welcome to participate and perform.
