Sheryl Sandberg, Founder
Sheryl Sandberg is the founder and chair of the Sandberg Goldberg Bernthal Family Foundation (LeanIn.Org), a nonprofit organization that works to build a more equal and resilient world through three key initiatives: Lean In, Option B, and the Dave Goldberg Scholarship Program. Launched in 2013, Lean In supports a global community of over 160,000 Lean In Circles in 183 countries.
Sheryl is also the co-founder of Sandberg Bernthal Venture Partners (SBVP), an early stage venture fund deploying private capital to fund innovation across consumer, enterprise, climate, and healthcare technology. Sheryl previously served as chief operating officer at Meta for fourteen years, during which the company grew from $150 million to over $110 billion in annual revenue and implemented industry-defining benefits and programs to make the workplace more inclusive.
Before joining the company then called Facebook, Sheryl was vice president of global online sales and operations at Google, chief of staff for the U.S. Treasury Department under President Clinton, a consultant with McKinsey & Company, and an economist with the World Bank. She serves on the boards of the Bay Football Club and Terradot.
Sheryl is the best-selling author of three books: Lean In, Lean In for Graduates, and Option B: Facing Adversity, Building Resilience, and Finding Joy, which she co-authored with Wharton professor Adam Grant.
She received a BA summa cum laude from Harvard University and an MBA with highest distinction from Harvard Business School. Sheryl lives in Menlo Park, California, with her husband and their five children.
Bridget Griswold, CEO
Bridget Griswold is CEO of LeanIn.Org, where she leads the organization's mission to inspire and equip women to lead and build more equal workplaces. A central pillar of her leadership is ensuring women are at the forefront of the AI revolution - driving Lean In's work to close the gender gap in one of the most consequential technological shifts of our time. Under her leadership, Lean In launched Lean In Connect, a new platform deepening how the organization serves its community of over 160,000 Circles, and has expanded its product team to build a more efficient, technology-driven organization.
Previously, Bridget was a product manager at Meta, where she led transformative work across Facebook and Instagram. She unified Facebook Video and Reels into a single platform, led a comprehensive redesign of Instagram's Search experience - including ranking, interface design, and account search - and helped found a team for Instagram App Ads.
Before Meta, Bridget graduated from Brown University with a double major in computer science and business, where she led a campus entrepreneurship program and served as a campus tour guide.
Mary Noble-Tolla, Ph.D., Director of Research & Content
After nearly nine years at LeanIn.Org, Mary Noble-Tolla has shaped how millions of people understand women and work, translating complex research into actionable insights for a global audience. She is the lead author of Women in the Workplace, the largest study of women in corporate America, and led the design of LeanIn.Org’s landmark workplace training programs, including 50 Ways to Fight Bias and The Women at Work Collection, which equip women to overcome the barriers they still face at work. She has also published dozens of articles on women’s and girls’ leadership and the barriers they still face – and co-created the Lean In Girls program, a strengths-based leadership curriculum for girls ages 11–17, which has reached hundreds of thousands of students.
Previously, Mary was editor-in-chief at the content startup Topix.com and has published in HuffPost and Bustle, among other outlets. She holds a Ph.D. from Princeton University and a B.A. from Cambridge University, and she taught for several years at Oxford and Princeton.
Julie Alvin, Executive Editor
Julie Alvin is the Executive Editor of LeanIn.Org, where she oversees content strategy across platforms. After 15 years in women’s media, Julie joined the organization in 2026. She brings deep experience covering the intersection of gender and work, money, politics, and health.
She previously held roles as SVP of Content at The Skimm, SVP of Editorial Strategy at Refinery29 / VICE, and head of the Time Inc. digital lifestyle group, overseeing InStyle, Travel + Leisure, Real Simple, Hello Giggles, and Departures. She was a founding editor of Bustle. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, AdWeek, and HuffPost, among others, and she has appeared as a commentator on gender and politics on CBS, ABC, CNBC, and Fox News.
Julie is a founding member of Chief executive women’s network, a board member at Friends of Kenyan Orphans (FOKO), and, most demandingly, the mother of two small children. She studied communications, social justice, and studio art at Boston College, and is a former professor for NYU’s Master’s in Publishing program.
Sidney Lee, Sr. Manager of Programs & Community Experience
Sidney Lee is Senior Manager, Programs & Community Experience at LeanIn.Org, where she sits at the intersection of community, content, and connection — translating Lean In's mission into programs and experiences that reach women where they are. In her five-plus years at Lean In, she has been a trusted voice of the members she serves — conducting listening tours, surveys, and live trainings that have helped shape programs including Lean In Circles, 50 Ways to Fight Bias, and Allyship at Work, which together have reached thousands of women across more than 190 countries. She partners with industry experts and companies to source, develop, and review content that brings real-world expertise into Lean In's programs and resources.
Before Lean In, Sidney was a Senior Consultant at Ernst & Young and a Program Manager at UC Berkeley's Stiles Hall. She holds a B.S. in Business Administration from UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business.
