Although women make up most of the arts staffing, the majority of Senior Management and Board positions are held by men. There is still a huge salary discrepancy based on gender. For example, between male and female art museum directors today, women make 30% less. Together women can help mentor each other to change this and achieve greater recognition and leadership positions in arts institutions nationally. Barbara Bloemink, organizer of this circle, was the Director of 5 major art museums and held various senior positions at non-profit arts organizations.
