We want to inspire other Latinas to choose a medical career! The traditionally faces of medicine are changing in US and around the world. Women physicians are influencing the world of medicine, bringing a new perspective and cultural awareness to the practice of medicine. For many hispanic women, becoming a doctor seems an impossible dream. It was not the case in my family. We are very fortunate to be three sisters physicians (3/4), and to be part of the minority Hispanic women show how it can be done. Based in statistics from the American Medical Association, hispanic women physicians make up just 3.4% of all women physicians. Many organizations are working on increasing minority enrollment in medical school and we hope to inspire other Latinas to choose a medical career.
