About our Circle

  • Looking for members

It's no secret that Duke students and groups are disconnected. Whether it's competition, polar diversity, or fear that causes the disconnect is up for debate, but the current social climate can be degrading and even crushing. No individual or group is immune to scrutinization on this campus, but criticism is often destructive, immature and pointless. And while life-long friendships can be found and passions can be harvested at Duke, many students have trouble finding their paths and a sense of belonging due to a lack of social and administrative support. It is way too easy to fall through the cracks. We didn't come to Duke to be destructed, become destructive, or lose ourselves. If you've had a particularly fantastic experience, or a particularly horrible experience, you are still part of Duke. This movement is just one attempt at unifying students that feel well connected, students that feel invisible, students that are proud, students that are excelling, students that are struggling, students that are athletes, students that feel isolated, and any other type of student you can think of. Hopefully Lean In circles on Duke's campus will connect students to individuals and groups that give them a reason to love their school (whether it's their first reason or their millionth reason).

How it works

Circles are small groups of women who come together—online or offline—for real talk and peer support.

Why join a Circle?

We all need a safe space for real talk, inspiration, and support. Right now, we need community more than ever.
