About our Circle

  • Looking for members

Carolina Girls is a circle for UNC alums and current students. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill graduating class has been 70% women for many years. Why are Carolina Girls the best? It's the pride - the pride we take in everything we do, in our professions, in our families, in feeding that spark that turns heads, in the difference we are making in the world. In 1980, Chairmen of the Board released the song "Carolina Girls" extolling the virtues of the women of North and South Carolina including being tuff (that T-U-F-F), fine, and one of a kind. Ken Knox, one of the Chairmen, described his feelings about the response of Southern (and Southern educated) women to their song: "Girls became prideful. High schools and colleges use that song. Marching bands play "Carolina Girls". It's on T-shirts and we're glad about that." So are we.

How it works

Circles are small groups of women who come together—online or offline—for real talk and peer support.

Why join a Circle?

We all need a safe space for real talk, inspiration, and support. Right now, we need community more than ever.
