About our Circle

This is a circle for the women of BRCK, to celebrate how far we’ve come and also to look ahead at how we can improve in the future. Whether it is being an entrepreneur, a mentor, a mother, a wife, starring in boardrooms or fixing Mojas in a matatu, there is plenty for us to be happy and proud about! Let us support each other to grow and reach new heights! Circle Fundamentals: Confidentiality: Trust is critical. What happens in our Circle should stay in our Circle. Don't carry what we learn about fellow members outside to our professional relationships. Why it matters: Members won’t want to share real issues if they don’t feel they can trust everyone in the Circle. Communication: Commit to share openly and honestly—and to listen with empathy. Why it matters: Research shows that sharing begets sharing. As you share with one another, you’ll feel more connected and better positioned to offer helpful insights and ideas. When you’re listening, it is important to “listen in order to understand” (rather than “listen to respond”) and resist the urge to judge others’ choices or experiences. Every meeting will have an opportunity to open anonymous notes for questions/discussions that members may have sent the meeting moderator. Commitment: Everyone should be invested in our Circle’s success and be fully present at meetings. Why it matters: The more everyone participates, the more we’ll all get out of our Circle—the expression “groups are only as strong as their weakest link” is true. We will meet once a month (last Thursday of every month) and commit to being punctual and fully present, putting phones away. Circle Goals: 1. Risk & career growth 2. Confidence 3. Discipline 4. Meaningful connections

How it works

Circles are small groups of women who come together—online or offline—for real talk and peer support.

Why join a Circle?

We all need a safe space for real talk, inspiration, and support. Right now, we need community more than ever.
