About our Circle

  • Looking for members

Despite living in a world of burgeoning opportunities, woman are not accessing equally to leadership positions. Women continue to be underrepresented in research and development in all regions of the world. In Colombia, leadership positions in rural enterprises dealing with agriculture are mainly occupied by men, while number of professional women in the area continue to increase. In a country whose economy is mostly based in agriculture, empowering women in rural areas is crucial for its development. In this circle, we intend to empower rural women through discussions, talks and motivational examples of how barriers can be overcome and they can become leaders in an working area formerly reserved to men. Our aim is to inspire woman in rural areas to pursue formal education and look at agriculture as an opportunity for professional development.
