About our Network

  • Looking for members

It’s not easy being a graduate student while trying to navigate through life’s hardships, including career aspirations, earning a masters degree and PhD. The Power of She was started by two female grad students, both from different programs, who want to create a space for women to feel safe, free, and open to discuss, debate, share in spiritual and academic topics, including a career after graduate where feminists and womanists can contribute their skills and knowledge and are not the minority. The Lean in Circle is just another tool and skill set for women to thrive and succeed in personal life as well as in the workforce. Through the Lean In program, we plan to practice job interviews, resume workshops, reading and editing fellow students academic writing, and learning how to ask for more money, or a raise, from your employer. Lean In was created by Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg as a way to push and challenge more women who want to be in the workforce to use their skills and knowledge to become successful and perform equal to or better than other colleagues.
